Policies & FAQs

  • Are your pottery materials food safe?

In short yes! Unless otherwise mentioned in a listing, all my pottery that is intended for food or beverage use is food safe and dishwasher safe. I’ve always used lead-free materials in my studio and I’ve never used heavy metals in my work. Sometimes I will put real gold accents on the outside of my pottery but when on the outside it is food safe. (But gold can’t go in the microwave or dishwasher!) If something is not intended for food use, aka a paint palette, don’t use it for food! Please use common sense when using my work!

  • Refunds/Returns/Cancelations

All sales are final 24 hours after an order is placed. I do not accept refunds, returns, exchanges, or cancelations. Especially if something is a custom order. Please understand handmade custom orders can’t be “undone” I can’t reuse the materials if they have already been in the kiln. Some items may have slight imperfections, this is the case with handmade items! Think of it as a unique work of art. If you placed an order and want to cancel it, please email me within 24 hours of your purchase. If it has already been shipped I cannot cancel it. Squarespace processes orders as soon as they are placed and does not issue me as the seller full refunds. There is an additional transaction fee for the way you paid for your order too which does not get refunded to me either. Which means I have to pay a transaction fee to both Squarespace and your payment method. If we agree to cancel an order, you are responsible for a 15% restock fee of your order total (including cost of item/taxes/additional shipping).

  • Can I do custom orders?

Yes, for bulk orders only. Please see the wholesale order page to make your request. I will email you within 48 hours and we can talk about your custom order request from there.

Please note this for business owners only, for use in your shop (like mugs for a coffee shop). Please be as clear as possible in your description! Give me as many details as you can so I know what you would like.

Bulk custom items are available for businesses wanting 10+ of the same item.

  • What sizes are each item?

I do have a few people who ask about sizes of items I’ve made or custom orders. To help, when I post an item I usually post a photo of me holding the item as well as adding details of size in inches to each items description. For cups and mugs, I sometimes include how many ounces or cups of liquid they will hold. And for miniatures, I ALWAYS clearly state if they are miniature in size including photos and a description as well.

  • Items in shop

Each item is handmade! This means that no item is exactly the same. I do post photos of items and have descriptions that each may vary slightly. For custom orders, please read full details. However, when some slight differences occur, what you may think is a slight imperfection is just a reminder that each piece is hand crafted individually and not mass produced. Keep in mind that variations can occur due to things that are out of my control as well, such as clay or glaze differences, and kiln firings can have effects on pieces. If you are unhappy with the result of your order please reach out to me before leaving a review. I'm more than happy to help you with an order you made. Thank you!

  • Shipping damage/lost item

I always take the best care I can when packing an item. Unfortunately, I am not responsible for your package once it leaves my care. If damage was done to your package in shipping, you will have to send USPS photos of the box, as well as the postage label on the box AND proof of the damaged item. (This is for Priority Mail and Insured packages only. Please see “Shipping Choices below for more info). You will also have to save the box and contents to take to YOUR local post office to show evidence of damage. I will not reimburse you directly for a damaged item. USPS will send you a reimbursement once you file a claim with them. If you would like a replacement item, you will have to order and pay for it again. (This includes lost items! You will have to send a message to USPS with your tracking information to open a case) I will not make replacement items for free! Thank you for understanding.

  • What If I Break Something?

There is nothing more heartbreaking right? You use a favorite mug everyday and then you drop it. Ugg! But unfortunately, once something is broken you cannot safely repair it and use it. So this means anything intended for food will no longer be food safe once it is broken. Even if it is just a handle on a mug, I don’t recommend trying to glue it back on, for safety reasons. No gold repair either! I also don’t offer that as a service (sorry!). But I will remake you something if you’d like to place a new order!

  • Color & Material Changes

I do my best to stay consistent with my pottery. However, once in a while, companies can change the chemical composition of clays and glazes without notice.

Please be patient with me if a glaze or clay body is slightly different than the one you ordered, unfortunately that is also out of my control.

Orders cannot be undone or changed due to these differences and will not be reimbursed, but I'll try to work with each person individually to make it right. Thank you!

When purchasing from Busydaydreams (Busydaydreams Pottery) online or in person you understand the following as the buyer: Myself and my business do not have control over how items are handled once they leave my care. I’m not responsible for lost or damaged packages and will not reimburse or refund you directly. (If you do not pay for insurance at checkout USPS cannot refund you at all). I’m not responsible for items that get broken or misused at any time. Please handle all items with care and common sense! • Shipping Choices

I have three options when it comes to my website orders. Most orders are a little higher then on my Etsy shop to cover fees and a little bit of shipping. My first option is Priority, I only charge $8 for this upgrade, it includes up to $100 of cost coverage. If USPS breaks or loses a package over that amount, I’m not responsible for replacing or refunding your package, BUT USPS can reimburse you through a process. Please add additional coverage or email me if you want to insure your item for more. The second option is Free Shipping. The items will ship Ground Advantage, with $100 of included insurance. The third option is added insurance. You can add $4 per item to your check out for your Ground Advantage or Priority packages, this covers an additional $50 on your order. If your order is over $100 I recommend you add this on. If your package is lost, stolen, or damaged and it was over $100 you won’t be refunded anything over $100 by USPS if you didn’t add additional insurance.
